Join us for the next instalment of the much-loved ‘Family Saturdays with the Theatre’ series at the Auchan Bydgoszcz Shopping Centre! We’re in for a wonderful and thought-provoking eco-adventure in the play ‘A Story from the Vistula’
On Saturday 18 July, our shopping centre’s atrium will be transformed into a magical riverside realm. Together with the children, we’ll set off on an adventurous journey along the banks of Poland’s longest river to uncover the secrets hidden in its meandering waters. The journey will begin at 12:00 and 15:00, and admission to both performances is free.
What is the play ‘A Tale of the Vistula’ about? It is a thoughtful, eco-friendly puppet show created for audiences aged 3 and over. Disturbing things are beginning to happen on the Vistula – the water is flowing ever more slowly, and mysterious, sad sounds are coming from its current. Concerned inhabitants of the river and its banks – the stately Heron and the wise Catfish – decide to find out what is happening to their home. They are helped in this important mission by a brave boy called Antek. Together, they discover that a cunning ‘Rubbish Monster’ has taken up residence in the river, who loves to pollute the environment with plastic and discarded rubbish. Will the heroes manage to save the river and defeat the monster?
The show teaches the youngest children how to look after nature, why it’s worth sorting rubbish, and just how powerful cooperation can be. The whole production is brought to life by beautiful, original puppets, colourful set design and catchy songs.

We’ve got a surprise in store for our regular audience members! For attending each performance in the ‘Family Saturdays with the Theatre’ series, children receive a stamp on a special participant card. The rules are simple: once they’ve collected 8 stamps, every child will receive a special prize – a set of LEGO bricks!
